Koh Chang

Situated 300 km from beautiful downtown bangkok and close to the Cambodian coast line is Koh Chang. The island is simple and easy to get to when flights with Bangkok Airways fly twice daily from Bangkok to Trat and then a short ferry journey to Koh Chang. It is the second largest island and gets its name ‘Chang’ from the thai word meaning elephant due to the elephant shape of its headline. The island was first discovered as a tourist destination in the year 2000 and has been developing since however it is still far quieter than places like Phuket and Koh Samui.

Koh Chang Marine National Park is virtually unknown to the outside world with 70% coverage of virgin rain forests. The island is amazing for those who appreciate natures wildlife and living in a more basic calm environment  far away from the bustling city-life.

Koh Chang’s coast lines are a master piece of natures art. Coves and bays and wonderful beaches surround the island, as well as untreked jungles, breathtaking waterfalls, colorful coral reefs, high peeks and a clear blue sea. There is also a forgotten wildlife waiting to be discovered. The island has a good selection of wildlife including, birds, snakes, deer and a number of elephants.

For people who like to get exploring small motorbikes and cars are available for rental. Jeeps are more recommend due to some roads that are not in the best condition. The main road almost circles the island however work is still being done and the plans are in place to complete in the near future.
